From concept development through production support, you will contribute across the entire product lifecycle while working on products used in some of the world's most advanced residential and commercial environments.\nApply your problem-solving ability, creativity, and technical expertise to develop robust product solutions. Use your communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and supplier partners across multiple locations.\nResponsibilities Design mechanical components, assemblies, tools, and fixtures for performance and manufacturability.\nCreate 3D CAD models and engineering documentation for products and design changes.\nPerform FEA, tolerance analyses, DFM, and FMEA to validate designs.\nIdentify and implement product improvements and cost reduction opportunities.\nPrototype designs using 3D printing, machine shops, and supplier resources.\nBuild and test prototypes to evaluate performance and improve solutions.\nConduct design reviews and incorporate feedback into product designs.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products.\nSource, qualify, and support production tooling and manufacturing processes.\nTroubleshoot manufacturing, supplier, and customer issues using root cause analysis.\nUphold quality standards, customer focus, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nQualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Science, or related field.\nMinimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned.\n5+ years of mechanical product design experience.\nExperience using 3D CAD software in a product development environment.\nKnowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including statics and material properties.\nExperience with manufacturing processes including injection molding, stamping, extrusion, forming, and machining.\nAbility to travel up to 10% of the time.\nAbility to work onsite in Boston, MA.\nYou are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.\nThe salary range for this position is dependent on the selected candidate’s experience and the level at which they are hired.
