Pace Company is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our growing company. This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for a recent college graduate or someone with less than five years of experience who is interested in building a career in heavy civil construction. The Project Engineer will work alongside Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure successful on‑time and on‑budget completion of heavy civil construction projects.\n\nRoles and Responsibilities\n\nPerform project stakeout utilizing both GPS and traditional survey methods.\n\nPrepare, distribute, and monitor construction submittals and project RFIs.\n\nPerform detailed quantity take‑offs and work with vendors to order project materials.\n\nAssist Project Manager with subcontractor management to include scheduling, monitoring work progress, and monthly payment.\n\nMonitor project progress through daily record keeping and monthly schedule updates (Primavera P6).\n\nDevelop and implement project specific Maintenance of Traffic plans.\n\nSuggest Value Engineering proposals to project owners as appropriate.\n\nThis position is based out of our office in Roanoke, VA with regional travel to jobsites.
