Financial Planning Associate (Open to Remote, If Not Local)How will your role impact First Command?The Financial Planning Associate (FPA) will report directly to the Manager, Financial Planning. The primary responsibility of the FPA is to facilitate a comprehensive financial planning training program for First Command's newest advisors, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required for effective financial planning client engagements. Will play a pivotal role in ensuring a consistent and high-quality training experience. This individual must have knowledge of how to utilize First Commands financial planning software and recommendation tools. They must also work to gain deep knowledge of the financial planning process, military and federal benefits, retirement plans, insurance and investment products, Social Security and Medicare benefits and eligibility, principles of estate planning, income taxation rules, tax considerations in all stages of financial planning, and a variety of product solutions. This individual works closely with Field Force Training, field leadership, and other home office departments to advance the financial planning philosophy of the enterprise and promote coaching as the foundation of First Command's client relationships. Facilitate the training experience for new advisors in multiple Client Engagement Processes and incorporate the value of financial planning.What will you be doing?Coordinate and deliver training in live and virtual settings to individual and group audiencesDevelop and foster effective relationships with field leaders, home office partners, and advisorsDevelop and maintain deep understanding of financial planning concepts, especially those relevant to the target marketDevelop and maintain deep expertise on financial planning software tools and provide training on those toolsContribute to the enhancement of training methods and explore new approaches to deliver financial planning knowledge to new advisorsSet strategic priorities for the development of training resources on financial planning concepts, products, strategies, and software toolsParticipate in cross-department projectsAdditional tasks assigned by Manager as part of a responsibility statement, focused in a certain area. (i.e., Fast Start education, Content Development & Management, or High Net Worth client deliverables, etc.)Up to 10% travel in this role either to Home Office or as needed in the fieldWhat Skills/Qualifications Do You Need?EducationBachelor's Degree, preferably in finance or business-related fieldsAdvanced credentials in financial planning highly preferred (CFP, ChFC, CPA, etc.)Work Experience2+ years of relevant financial service industry experienceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of financial planning tools, concepts, and strategiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills and organization skillsWorks equally well independently and collaborativelySkilled in self-motivation, self-development, and accountabilityOrganized, energetic, and able to display strong public speaking skillsInvestment and insurance products are not deposits, are not insured by the FDIC, and may lose value.
