This role drives improvements to development processes to enhance efficiency, software quality, and overall product cost.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and test professionals to deliver high-quality software across all phases of development, including design, implementation, integration, testing, and support\nDesign and develop software architectures, translate technical specifications into robust solutions, and deliver well-tested, maintainable code\nDiagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects independently\nProvide technical leadership, including defining requirements, guiding design decisions, and mentoring team members\nCoordinate engineering activities and drive timely delivery of software modules and subsystems by establishing clear goals and expectations\nPerform and guide unit, subsystem, and integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability, while promoting best testing practices across the team\nSupport system-level activities by partnering with clinical, quality, service, and test engineers to reproduce issues, execute tests, and document findings in defect tracking systems\nContribute to program planning, strategic initiatives, and continuous process improvements across the organization\nMentor and support the development of junior engineers through technical coaching, code reviews, and feedback\nEnsure compliance with internal standard operating procedures and applicable FDA and industry regulations\nMaintain and improve software development processes, tools, and configuration management practices\nYour Qualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\nMaster’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred\nRequired Qualifications\n5 to 8 years of experience in software design, analysis, and troubleshooting in an engineering environment, or 3 to 6 years with a Master’s degree\nProven experience providing technical leadership within a complex software development environment\nStrong background in Windows application development, including Win32 and MFC\nExperience with Windows batch scripting\nDemonstrated curiosity and ability to explore Windows internals to diagnose and resolve complex system behaviors\nProficiency in C++ and Python\nExperience debugging applications using Visual Studio\nWorking knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP networking\nAbility to elicit, document, analyze, review, and trace software requirements\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in medical device development or other regulated industries\nFamiliarity with Windows security and system features such as UWF, Secure Boot, and BitLocker\nExperience with C#\nExperience with build systems such as CMake and Ninja\nKnowledge of secure coding practices and secure software development principles\nThe targeted pay range for this position is typically between $115,000 - $127,200.
