This role is ideal for a professional with 1–5 years of experience who is highly proficient in blueprint analysis, digital takeoffs, and cost estimation within the fire protection industry.The Project Manager / Estimator will evaluate project plans, perform site visits, prepare competitive bids, and manage awarded projects to ensure profitability and compliance with NFPA standards and local codes. This position plays a critical role in maintaining strong relationships with contractors, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), and internal teams while ensuring projects are delivered accurately, on time, and within budget.Who We AreA and S Fire Protection, Inc. is a second-generation, family-owned company proudly serving Ventura County for over 50 years. We believe in promoting from within and providing long-term career growth opportunities in a highly specialized and in-demand industry.At A and S Fire Protection, every team member contributes directly to our reputation for excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate blueprints, specifications, and site conditions to accurately calculate labor, material, and equipment costsPerform site visits to assess existing conditions for new installations and retrofit projectsPrepare detailed and competitive bids for fire sprinkler projectsEnsure compliance with NFPA 13, 13D, and 13R standards, as well as applicable local codesMaintain professional communication with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)Develop cost analyses and pricing models using Microsoft ExcelConduct thorough scope reviews and analysis to ensure accurate biddingCoordinate with General Contractors and other trades to clarify scope and secure contractsNegotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors while maintaining project profitabilityManage awarded projects by coordinating scheduling, staffing, and project timelinesAddress technical questions and provide project clarification as neededCollaborate with field teams to ensure proper execution and resource allocationMonitor project costs and assist in maintaining profit marginsQualifications1–5 years of experience in fire sprinkler estimating and/or project managementStrong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and installation practicesWorking knowledge of NFPA 13, 13D, and 13R standardsProficiency in Bluebeam for digital takeoffs and bid managementAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and budgetingStrong blueprint reading and specification interpretation skillsExperience performing material takeoffs and detailed cost estimatesAbility to communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, AHJs, and internal teamsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyHigh School Diploma or GED requiredCompensation and BenefitsCompensation:$40 – $50 per hour, depending on experienceWeekly pay cyclePrevailing wage projects availableMedical InsuranceRetirement:Retirement savings programOngoing training and advancement opportunitiesLong-term growth potential within project management and leadership rolesPersonal Tool Replacement ProgramTech package (smartphone or tablet provided)Work-Life Balance:Paid Time Off (Holidays, Vacation, Sick Leave)Travel projects with per diem when applicableWork ScheduleFull-TimeMonday – FridayWork LocationBased in Ventura, CAProjects primarily throughout Ventura CountyPotential travel to surrounding areas as requiredTravel projects may include per diemWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
