Summary: This role serves as an engineering partner working on site at the client facility, helping drive reliability goals, asset performance, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate brings a proactive, hands-on approach to eliminating recurring failures, improving uptime, and building trust with plant leadership and site teams. Essential Functions Serve as a subject matter expert in Reliability while supporting client operations and driving adoption of maintenance and reliability best practices. Design, implement, and improve asset care strategies and maintenance procedures using risk-based methods such as RCM and FMEA. Lead equipment failure investigations using root cause analysis, 5-Why, and other analytical techniques to identify and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with client technical resources to solve chronic equipment problems and improve long-term asset performance. Monitor equipment performance and use condition-based or maintenance data to identify failure trends, support reliability improvements, and reduce unplanned downtime. Provide technical guidance to production, maintenance, and engineering personnel in support of continuous improvement, precision repair, and effective equipment installation practices. Analyze the costs and benefits of equipment and maintenance strategies to support client reliability objectives and sound business decisions. Create, revise, and maintain site procedures to align with current maintenance and reliability best practices. Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders by communicating clear, data-driven recommendations and managing expectations with professionalism and responsiveness. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required; mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline is preferred. 3 to 5 years of relevant industrial experience is preferred for junior-level candidates, while senior-level candidates should bring at least 5 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or related engineering roles. Strong background and broad-based experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering within an industrial setting preferred. Practical knowledge of current maintenance and reliability best practices and condition monitoring technologies is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate issues logically and communicate recommendations clearly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with Manufacturing Directors, Plant Engineers, Superintendents, and other client stakeholders. Ability to interpret financial and nonfinancial data and clearly explain the economic impact of significant decisions. High level of professionalism, responsiveness, and credibility in a client-facing environment is required. Process Safety Management experience is preferred. Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification is preferred. Ability to work on site at the client facility, depending on assignment. Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening, including any client-required testing. Must not require sponsorship.
