This is an opportunity to tackle complex problems usually reserved for a handful of large companies in the search industry.\nAbout the Opportunity:\nNTENT is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to manage our DevOps environment. The right candidate will lead initiatives focused on driving automation of infrastructure as code, capability planning, datacenter management & expansion, failover and disaster recovery, big data management, configuration management and high throughput streaming data pipelines within a high-volume environment.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nPlan and design system architectures that support NTENT’s growing production infrastructure in relation to capacity, performance and reliability\nOwnership and enhancement of the deployment infrastructure for all systems (Gitlab)\nDirectly responsible for hiring, growing and developing team members into the core Systems Engineering team, working with NTENT's recruiters\nCollaborate with engineering, QA and product managers to develop high performance solutions and ensure smooth, efficient and reliable methods of deploying our products\nIdentify and implement performance tuning where appropriate\nIdentify risk areas related to uptime and reliability, and design solutions to mitigate and remove those risks\nParticipate in capacity planning, scalability and new datacenter design\nDesign and improve automation related to server provisioning, configuration and software deployment\nAssist with response to platform issues, retrospectives and future enhancements, including partaking in on-call support duties\nChampion new technology adoption throughout engineering\nSkills and Qualifications:\n5+ years of proven systems administration and operations success\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering (or similar technical degree) or relevant experience\nExperience with container technologies Docker, Kubernetes required\nSolid experience with Linux and Windows systems\nProven experience with appropriate scripting languages and automation tools (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash etc.)\nSystems configuration management experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and Terraform (Puppet and Terraform preferred).\nKnowledge and experience of system monitoring and alerting tools and processes (e.g. Kibana, ELK etc)\nProven history of management of large scale, high performance software installations\nCapacity planning experience\nThe following experience is a plus:\nDistributed data stores such as Aerospike, Redis, Cassandra, Hbase, Mongo etc.\nElasticsearch or similar search infrastructure\nHadoop infrastructures, including HDFS, MR and Streaming technologies such as Spark\nMessaging buses / queues– such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, MSMQ etc. and event driven architectures\nVirtualization technologies\nThe ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and be able to work independently.
