Grounds and Maintenance
Maintenance is responsible for keeping the building and grounds meeting or exceeding all standards for city, county and state inspections.
This position requires a keen eye for possible problems, persistence when dealing with nagging challenges and a willingness to get into muck of it.
Hours can be flexible (sometimes it's easiest to schedule updates/projects when the building is unoccupied).
The most important aspects are keeping the facility safe, clean and orderly.
Duties
Maintain all city and state building safety codes.
Schedule annual inspections needed for each area of the building.
Maintain all HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
Keep the grounds looking in good repair and fresh.
Address any parking lot issues.
Bring any safety, security issues to the owner's attention. Propose maintenance and repairs that would enhance business image and operations.
Work with a lawn care company regarding regular maintenance and snow removal.
Keep outside areas free from trash, cigarette butts and other waste.
Maintain the outdoor classroom, greenhouse and stream.
Scheduling of staff or sub-contractors to assist with R&M jobs as necessary
Meet & coordinate with directors as needed or requested, including attending meetings. Be aware of special times where programs need extra attention.
Keep storage and common areas clean and organized.
Skills
You must be organized, efficient, proactive, cheerful, diplomatic, presentable and a team player.
- Ability to use tools effectively
- Understanding of mechanical concepts
- Prior experience in construction or related field or
After the initial training, you will have little or light supervision, but help is available almost anytime.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
