Traveling Phlebotomist

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipuncture and blood sampling procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques to maintain high standards of patient care and laboratory integrity. Duties Perform venipuncture and blood sampling with precision and care. Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures. Maintain accurate records of blood samples collected and ensure proper labeling. Assist in laboratory procedures, including preparation of samples for testing. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures to patients and addressing any concerns. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow within the laboratory setting. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations related to blood collection and handling. Stay updated on laboratory techniques and advancements in phlebotomy practices. Some traveling required (Chicago, South Suburbs, NW Indiana, Kankakee, Iroquois and Livingston County) Qualifications Proficient in phlebotomizing techniques with a strong understanding of physiology knowledge. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in blood sampling. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to phlebotomy and patient care. Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols meticulously. Certification in phlebotomy or related field is advantageous.
