{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"7ab5d4841f546ae1935bf197","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/7ab5d4841f546ae1935bf197","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/7ab5d4841f546ae1935bf197","title":"Environmental Engineer- Mining","description":"Job Description\nWe are seeking a motivated Project Manager to join our U.S. West Mining Team to deliver legacy mine reclamation and remediation projects.\n\nOur role focuses on planning, execution, and delivery of projects that create lasting community benefits and sustainable water, energy, and environmental solutions.\n\nHybrid Work Model\nThe position is hybrid: on‑site collaboration three days a week combined with flexible work.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nInitiate and plan projects using disciplined project management practices (scope confirmation, WBS, schedule, risk planning, onboarding).\n\nManage execution and controls: track progress, issues, changes, and dependencies; maintain project records for traceability.\n\nCoordinate communications and reporting cadence; maintain deadline control for regulatory and client reporting obligations.\n\nManage vendors and subcontractors; ensure work plans and outputs follow verification pathways.\n\nSupport digital field data collection and standardized reporting workflows; contribute to dashboards and evidence packs.\n\nPrepare deliverables and ensure they are ready for review with project director/subject matter expert approval prior to external use.\n\nEscalate risks and deviations early using leading indicators and agreed thresholds to support “no surprises” delivery.\n\nClose out projects with complete documentation, lessons learned, and hand‑off as required.\n\nWhat you will bring to the team\n\nDemonstrated experience in leading environmental field data collection, soil & groundwater investigations, and technical report preparation.\n\nAbility to manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk with a structured approach.\n\nStrong coordination skills across field/office resources and multi‑disciplinary technical teams.\n\nClear written and verbal communication; capable of producing and managing recurring reporting deliverables.\n\nOwnership and follow‑through on commitments.\n\nStrong attention to detail.\n\nEffective communication with technical and non‑technical audiences.\n\nCollaborative relationships with clients and team members.\n\nLeadership potential and desire to grow into larger project management responsibilities.\n\nA balance of technical problem‑solving with business and project objectives.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, Geotechnical, Environmental, or Mining Engineering, or related field.\n\nApproximately 5+ years of technical experience in environmental remediation and site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation, project coordination, and client management.\n\nProject management experience beyond day‑to‑day task management (e.g., defining scope/objectives, establishing and monitoring budgets, allocating resources, mitigating risks).\n\nUnderstanding of project management principles and methodologies.\n\nDemonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.\n\nStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.\n\nPrior experience coordinating projects, task teams, and technical work packages.\n\nExposure to project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, or client management preferred.\n\nExperience with project management systems such as project accounting software (e.g., BST, Deltek), MS Project, or Primavera P6 preferred.\n\nExperience in remediation and reclamation of legacy mine sites preferred.\n\nCERCLA, RCRA, or state‑led remediation program experience a plus.\n\nOSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification desired.\n\nMSHA 24‑hour New Miner training desired, but not required.\n\nAbility and willingness to travel to client meetings required.\n\nPE a plus, but not required.\n\nLocation\nThe position can be based in any of our offices across the West region: Phoenix, AZ; Tucson, AZ; Sacramento, CA; Roseville, CA; Seattle, WA; Irvine, CA; Eureka, CA; Concord, CA; Bay Area, CA; Redding, CA.\n\nEqual Opportunity Statement\nAs a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
