This role involves overseeing the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other digital tools to optimize project delivery, enhance collaboration, and ensure high-quality results within budget and on schedule. The VDC Manager will work closely with internal teams, external contractors and stakeholders to drive project success and innovation in construction processes.\n\nRole Description\nLead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects using Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technologies and methodologies\nDrive innovation by staying current with VDC trends and advocating for continuous improvement in construction workflows\nOversee the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other digital tools to improve project delivery and collaboration\nRepresent the company in business development, client engagements, and industry events\nAct as the primary liaison between internal teams, contractors, clients, and stakeholders to align on project goals and execution\nVDC Strategy & Execution\nLead implementation of VDC tools (e.g., 3D modeling, clash detection, simulation software)\nOversee digital model creation and VDC data accuracy and accessibility\nMonitor quality of VDC deliverables and implement risk mitigation strategies\nStakeholder & Client Management\nAct as the main point of contact for all stakeholders\nLead client meetings and presentations, communicating VDC value and project status\nClash Detection & Constructability\nIdentify and resolve design conflicts before construction starts\nBudget & Schedule Oversight\nMonitor project budgets and ensure cost-effective use of VDC resources\nKeeps projects on track financially and schedule-wise\nProgress Tracking & Reporting\nTrack project milestones and performance\nAddress issues and apply corrective actions as needed\nTeam Development & Mentorship\nAssist senior leadership with training direct reports\nMentor non-direct reports on VDC procedures and best practices\nBusiness Development\nCollaborate with the Director of VDC and Business Development teams\nParticipate in sales meetings, client relationship building, and networking events\nWho Are You\nBachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field\nFamiliarity with 4D/5D simulations and cost/time modeling\n3-5 plus years of AEC industry experience\nProficient in Microsoft Project, Procore, or comparable project management tools\n2-3 plus years of experience leading BIM coordination efforts\nStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills\nProven track record managing construction projects with VDC/BIM focus\nExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously\nExpertise in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Construction Cloud, and similar tools\nAbility to travel for site visits and client engagements as needed\nStrong understanding of construction lifecycles, contract development, and project delivery methods (Design-Build, CM at RISK, IPD)\nWork Environment:\nCompensation Range: $130,000 - $150,000 per year\n\nVEC is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
