Join our growing team as a PostgreSQL Database Architect, supporting the NGA customer mission.\nResponsibilities:\nWhat you get to do every day:\nInteracts with users and evaluates vendor products.\nDevelops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.\nDevelops and implements testing strategies and document results.\nProvides advice on performance tuning and training to end-users.\nManages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.\nMaintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts.\nSets up administrator and service accounts.\nMaintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures.\nMaintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.\nEvaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects.\nCollaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.\nPlan and execute database upgrades, patching, and migrations.\nEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements\nQualifications:\nClearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly\n\nCertification Required: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended\n\nEducation/Experience:\nRequires Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience\n\n5 + years of related database analysis and/or administration experience\nRequired Skills:\nPostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration a plus.\nExperience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuning\nExperience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts\nExperience with Database backup, restore, migration, and Database snapshot technologies/strategies\nKnowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data\nMigration experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL\nWhat is ideal?\nCompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended.\nIntelligence Community Experience preferred\nWhat you can expect from us:\nRecognizing great achievements do not go unnoticed by bcore through service anniversaries, spot awards, and employee referral bonuses\nYou’ll join a growing organization of passionate, top-shelf, IT engineering professionals with extensive experience in actively developing the technology revolution in the Intelligence community\nThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $113,000-$139,000.
