Join our growing Idaho Falls, Idaho or Meridian, Idaho office teams and play a meaningful role in shaping the communities we serve.This is an excellent opportunity for a confident leader with strong survey knowledge, proven team management experience, and the ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic planning.Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Survey Manager with an active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license to lead our survey operations and manage a high-performing team of survey professionals across multiple locations. This role combines technical expertise, people leadership, and project oversight to ensure quality deliverables, client satisfaction, and efficient project execution.Responsibilities include:Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of survey staff, including surveyors, technicians, and field crewsManage workload planning, staffing, scheduling, and project prioritizationOversee and perform survey review, calculations, boundary analysis, and QA/QCEnsure compliance with state laws, professional standards, and company proceduresServe as the responsible PLS on survey projects, including signing and sealing plansCoordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to support project goalsSupport staff development through mentoring, training, and performance feedbackParticipate in hiring, onboarding, and team development activitiesAssist with budgeting, resource forecasting, and continuous process improvementRepresent the survey department in internal meetings and client interactionsAll other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in [State] (multi-state licensure a plus)Minimum 10+ years of progressive survey experienceProven experience managing or leading a survey teamStrong knowledge of boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic surveys, and construction stakingProficiency with survey software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, or similar)Experience repairing and reviewing Platts is preferred and not requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standardsQualifications:Experience working in a consulting or multidisciplinary engineering environmentFamiliarity with UAV, LiDAR, or advanced survey technologiesPrior responsibility for departmental operations, budgeting, or workflow improvementsStrong client-facing and business development support experienceBenefits:Employee medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependentsShort-term and long-term disability insuranceCompany paid life insurance with option to buy upEmployee assistance program (EAP)Flexible spending account (FSA)Health savings account (HSA)401k match program & access to asset management servicesYear-end bonusCostco membershipPaid time off (PTO) and PTO sell back programPaid HolidaysParental LeaveTuition ReimbursementPaid day of community serviceWe are a mid-sized consulting firm providing water, wastewater, civil, transportation, and structural engineering services throughout the West including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah.
