Senior Level Matrimonial Litigator

The firm values professionalism, collaboration, and high-quality legal work in a supportive environment.Role Description The Matrimonial Litigation Associate will handle a varied caseload of matrimonial and family law matters, including contested and uncontested divorces, custody and visitation disputes, support proceedings, and related financial issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and other court submissions; conducting legal research; preparing discovery demands and responses; and managing case files. The associate will participate in depositions, court conferences, hearings, and trials, working closely with partners to develop and execute case strategy. The role also involves regular client communication, including counseling clients on legal options, case status, and settlement strategies. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY.Qualifications Strong foundation in Law, with experience or demonstrated interest in matrimonial and family law.Proficiency in drafting Motions and other litigation documents, including pleadings, affidavits, and settlement agreements.Ability to conduct thorough legal Research, including case law, statutes, and court rules relevant to matrimonial practice.Experience in taking and defending Depositions, as well as preparing witnesses and reviewing transcripts.Must be competent to appear in Courts, including handling conferences, hearings, and trials.J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar.Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with colleagues and staff.Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when working with clients on high-conflict and emotionally charged issues.Prior matrimonial or family law experience is required.
