Valuable Skills. Meaningful Opportunity.Job OverviewThe Coding Instructor works remotely, delivering the Persevere Coding Curriculum to students inside the prison classroom at MLTC. This is a full-time salaried position with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, matching 401k and an generous paid time off package. This position requires the ability to pass a reference check, background check and drug screen. Occasional travel is required up to 25%.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide in-class instruction of assigned curriculum according to the syllabusComplete certification on assigned technologies before teaching them, remaining at least 300 hours ahead of your studentsEnsure a functional, fresh, welcoming learning environmentComplete weekly lesson plans per the syllabus and submit to the Lead Instructor by the weekly deadlineProactively assist in the development of each students understanding and abilitiesDirect collaboration and instruction between studentsRecord student progressReport student data back to PersevereConduct or assist with town halls to promote enrollmentTake attendance as neededComplete and submit the Out of Count form as needed per client requirementCoordinate work with the Instructor Assistant if one is assignedAttend company meetingsComplete corporate training on a timely basisAssist with the creation of and follow critical Standard Operating Procedures and WorkflowsParticipate in cross training staff as requestedOther duties as assigned QualificationsCertified completion of the Persevere Coding Curriculum or similarPrevious instructional experience highly desirableReliable transportation to and from the work siteAbility to work while intermittently sitting and standing for extended periods\Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%Ability to operate and troubleshoot the classroom technology providedAbility to connect to co-workers virtually during non-instructional work timeAbility to work independently and effectively with a diverse group of studentsPrevious experience assisting people with mental health disabilities desirableProfessional verbal and written communications skillsStrong organizational skillsThe following languages, frameworks, databases, and libraries areRequired: JavaScript, ES6, Node.js, HTML, CSS, React, Express, MongoDB, MongoosePreferred: NoSQL, jQuery, Bootstrap, Sass, Regular Expressions or RegEx, Chai, Helmet, Pug, D3.js, passport, and Ajax.jsWe highly valuePassion for and responsibility to the customer/partnerMust be self-starting, hardworking and inquisitiveLeadership through innovation in everything you doPassion for what you do and being self-critical to improveRelentless commitment to winPersonal and corporate integrity
