The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing DevOps practices for database management systems. This role involves close collaboration with software engineering, operations, and data management teams to ensure seamless deployment, scaling, and monitoring of our database infrastructure. You will bring a problem‑solving mindset and a collaborative spirit to improve and streamline our processes.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nDevelop and maintain database infrastructure using DevOps principles.\n\nAutomate database deployment, scaling, and management processes.\n\nImplement monitoring and alerting tools to ensure database performance and availability.\n\nCollaborate with software development teams to support CI/CD pipelines.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.\n\nEnsure security and compliance standards are met for database systems.\n\nContinually improve processes and tools to increase efficiency and reliability of database operations.\n\nManage backup, recovery, and data archival processes.\n\nSupport and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.\n\nWrite well‑designed, testable, efficient code using software design principles.\n\nRespond to customer inquiries providing troubleshooting and analysis of complex problems.\n\nQualifications\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI in future.\n\nBachelor’s Degree with nine (9) years of prior programming experience.\n\nGraduate Degree with seven (7) years of prior programming experience.\n\nIn lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior programming experience.\n\nDemonstrated experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.\n\nDemonstrated experience with Linux System Administration experience, preferably in Red Hat or derivatives.\n\nDemonstrated knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Oracle.\n\nDemonstrated experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.\n\nDemonstrated experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.\n\nDemonstrated experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.\n\nDemonstrated familiarity with cloud platforms (Oracle, AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).\n\nPreferred Additional Skills\n\nKnowledge of data warehousing and big data technologies.\n\nCertification in cloud platforms or database management.\n\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.\n\n#LI-AM2\n\nL3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
