This position manages the month-end close process, accounts payable and general ledger activities to support the manufacturing of generator enclosures and related manufacturing. The Controller works closely with management to provide timely financial information, maintain strong internal controls, and support operational decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial ManagementManage all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close processes.Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and other general ledger accounts.Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and management reports.Analyze financial performance and identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.Assist with budgeting, forecasting and adherence to planAccounts PayableOversee the complete accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals and payment processing.Ensure purchasing activities align with approved budgets and inventory requirements.Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.Manufacturing Accounting / Order ManagementSupport inventory accounting and manufacturing cost reporting.Monitor inventory transactions and assist with inventory reconciliations.Work closely with production and operations to improve inventory accuracy and cost controls.Assist with job costing and manufacturing performance reporting.Handle the ERP Order Management in regards to sales order processCompliance & Internal ControlsDevelop and maintain effective accounting policies and internal controls.Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Maintain financial records in accordance with company retention policies.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant experience preferred.Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, inventory, and cost accounting principles.Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.Experience managing accounts payable and purchase order processes.Proficiency with Sage ERP (Sage 100, Sage 300, Sage X3, or similar Sage ERP platform).Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.Preferred QualificationsExperience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing is a plus.Experience with inventory management, job costing, and ERP implementations is highly desirable.","company":"Ies Infrastructure","rawCompany":"ies infrastructure","city":"Abilene","state":"TX","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-07-04T09:20:00.535Z","occupations":[{"code":"13-2011.00","title":"Accountants and Auditors","slug":"accountants-and-auditors"},{"code":"11-3031.01","title":"Treasurers and Controllers","slug":"treasurers-and-controllers"},{"code":"43-3031.00","title":"Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks","slug":"bookkeeping-accounting-and-auditing-clerks"}],"industries":[{"code":"333517","title":"Machine Tool Manufacturing","slug":"machine-tool-manufacturing"},{"code":"332313","title":"Plate Work Manufacturing","slug":"plate-work-manufacturing"},{"code":"335314","title":"Relay and Industrial Control Manufacturing","slug":"relay-and-industrial-control-manufacturing"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Controller","description":"Position SummaryThe Controller is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the Freeman-West business while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
