IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost-efficient manner to Corning worldwide.\n\nKey responsibilities:\nDesign, development, implementation and support of business and manufacturing software processes, functions, and systems in manufacturing environment.\nIn this role you will:\nDesign, development, test and support of Engineering and data analysis systems written in VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#.\nCreate and optimize image and signal processing algorithms.\nSupport optical equipment – high speed video cameras, video cameras’ API, quality control benches and measurement equipment.\nIntegrate MES systems with SAP ERP.\nCreate detailed technical documentation.\nWork collaboratively across organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and IT) within a manufacturing plant.\nProvide off-hours support for existing software and equipment based on rotation.\n\nRequired:\nBachelors or master’s in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Optics or similar relevant focus.\n7+ years software development experience in manufacturing, engineering design or scientific research fields.\nExperience in manufacturing (IT, Engineering or R&D).\nKnowledge of data analysis, business modelling, and optimization algorithms.\nExperience working with SQL databases e.g. Oracle, MSSQL Server.\nVery good knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 201x (.NET, VB).\nGood knowledge of signal and image processing algorithms. (Strong Mathematical knowledge may be accepted in lieu of signal/image processing experience).\nUnderstanding of the Principles of Optics.\nExcellent communication, in both verbal and written form.\n\nPreferred:\nSome knowledge of National Instrument data acquisition equipment.\nSome knowledge of TwinCAT (or similar) automation software and controls.\nSome knowledge of SAP ERP desirable.\nSome knowledge of Python and cloud application development desirable.\nSelf-motivated and well organized.\nCollaborate with multiple teams across multiple regions.\nProcess oriented and customer focused.\n\nThis is an onsite position, located at the Corning Incorporated Fiber Optics Plant in Wilmington, NC.\n\nThis position does not support immigration sponsorship.\n\nA job that shapes a life.\nCorning offers you the total package.\n\nYour well-being is our priority.
