{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"7a09f2c2c21b5d9770625b7d","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/7a09f2c2c21b5d9770625b7d","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/7a09f2c2c21b5d9770625b7d","title":"Rust Software Developer Level 6","description":"Chipton-Ross is seeking a Rust Software Developer Level 6 for a contract opportunity in Herndon, VA.\r\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)\r\nU.S. citizenship with an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.\r\nBachelor's or Masters degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\r\n3+ years of experience developing Rust software for production systems with a deep understanding of the language.\r\n10+ years of experience developing embedded software systems.\r\nExperience with C/C++ development and object-oriented design.\r\nExperience with development of embedded systems.\r\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\r\nPosition Responsibilities\r\nSupport the engineering team members in embedded software application development specifically with Rust.\r\nLead the adoption and deployment of Rust and associated techniques, idioms, design patterns, and tooling throughout multiple product lines.\r\nApply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target hardware.\r\nWork closely with cross-functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.\r\nSupport and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal test.\r\nInvestigate root causes of complex issues, and implement solutions, working independently or with a multi-discipline team.\r\nDevelop software test plans and procedures, and other relevant technical documentation.\r\nUtilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and evaluate results.\r\nParticipate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects.\r\nUtilize a variety of software languages (primarily Rust, C/C++, and Python) developing code for embedded real-time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, Integrity).\r\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)\r\nExperience converting C/C++ code to Rust.\r\nExperience developing Rust software for embedded systems.\r\nObject-oriented design and implementation experience, with exposure to software modeling and UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo.\r\nExperience developing device drivers and board support packages for real-time embedded systems.\r\nExperience with Information Assurance and/or cryptography.\r\nExperience with NSA Type 1 certification or other SW certification such as DO-178.\r\nRequired Education\r\nAccredited Bachelor's or Masters degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\r\nWork Hours: Full-Time -
