Associate General Counsel

Our client, a leading real estate investment and development firm who are seeking to hire an Associate General Counsel to join its growing legal team.This role is ideal for a commercially minded real estate attorney looking to work closer to the business, with direct exposure to acquisitions, asset management, leasing, development, and day-to-day operational decision-making.ResponsibilitiesLead and support commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions from initial evaluation through closingDraft, review, and negotiate a broad range of real estate agreements, including leases, amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, vendor contracts, and development-related documentationManage due diligence processes, including title and survey review, zoning matters, organizational documentation, and transaction coordinationAdvise internal stakeholders on leasing strategy, tenant matters, defaults, dispute resolution, and ongoing asset management issuesSupport construction, development, and property operations matters, including negotiation of construction and service agreementsPartner closely with acquisitions, asset management, finance, and operations teams to provide practical, business-oriented legal adviceManage outside counsel and assist in identifying and mitigating legal and transactional risk across the portfolioQualificationsJD from an accredited law school and active bar membership4–7 years of experience handling commercial real estate transactionsStrong background in acquisitions, leasing, development, and general real estate transactional mattersExperience gained at a top law firm and/or sophisticated in-house real estate platform preferredExcellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills with a practical, business-oriented approachCompensation Details: $300,000 - $350,000 base salary + Bonus
