This is a professional registered nurse (RN) position accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team. RN’s are accountable for reviewing medical records, observing the provision of medical care provided to patients by facility staff, coordinating assessments from other disciplines, incident reporting and investigation. Incumbents oversee and review the work and documentation of LPNs, nurse assistants, and other technical personnel. Assess, observe, evaluate, and record patient’s mental and physical condition and provides treatment staff with information on which to make treatment decisionsDevelop and maintain nursing treatment plan, progress notes, flow sheets, and other required documentationInteract with patients as a part of the treatment plan, including social, recreational, and treatment activities in order to provide continuing treatment and rehabilitationIntermittent physical activity including:Walking (100-500 feet; may require rapid response)Standing (15-30 minutes in session)Sitting (15-30 minutes in session)Lifting (35 pounds)Hearing (evaluating potentially dangerous situations; taking blood pressures)Seeing (written instructions, patient behaviors)Speaking (in order to communicate with patients and staff)Make quick decisions and respond promptly and appropriatelyDemonstrate good manual dexterityProper use of the telephone or any other equipment employee’s use for duty purposesTranscribe medical orders.
