In this senior role, you will be expected to work independently and with quality and speed. You will mentor other engineers and provide thoughtful code review.\r\nYou are skilled at breaking projects down into smaller tasks, you communicate clearly and are comfortable working asynchronously across geos. This role will require you to work in a fast-paced, start-up style environment with colleagues from various backgrounds to deliver user-facing product features.\r\nWhat you'll be doing:\r\nDevelop and maintain our mobile app using technologies like React Native, TypeScript, and Redux\r\nDiagnose and fix bugs/performance bottlenecks to achieve native-level user experience\r\nDesign and maintain CI/CD pipelines to build, test, and deliver our app\r\nMaintain code and write automation tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality\r\nWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve key business problems\r\nIntroduce, socialize, and promote mobile development best practices among the team\r\nMentor other engineers and provide constructive feedback through code reviews\r\nWhat you'll need:\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)\r\n5+ years of experience in React Native development, shipping apps that impact millions of users\r\nExperience with React Native's New Architecture and iOS Liquid Glass integration\r\nAbility to write clean, testable, and fully typed TypeScript\r\nExperience and proficiency using Redux\r\nExperience with Native iOS and/or Android development\r\nSolid foundations and familiarity with Xcode and Android Studio\r\nAbility to write and maintain technical documentation\r\nKnowledge of REST APIs\r\nExperience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines\r\nExperience monitoring and managing apps in production\r\nBonus Points\r\nExperience with Over the Air Updates (OTA)\r\nExperience using Sentry for error and performance monitoring\r\nExperience using AI as part of development, including AI code assist, AI coding and agentic development\r\nThis position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area with an expectation of in-office 2 days per week.\r\nThe applicable salary range for this role is $144,000 to $216,000 for applicants located in the San Francisco Bay Area.\r\nWhy Mercari\r\nSmall enough to make an impact, but established enough to provide the stability you need to be successful, Mercari is the best of both worlds.
