This is an exciting opportunity to leverage the latest advancements in cloud computing, analytics, and web technologies while collaborating with a talented team dedicated to solving complex challenges and delivering meaningful impact.\n\nThe day-to-day\n\nCollaborate closely with fellow engineers in an Agile, self-organized Scrum team to design, build, and deliver high-quality software solutions.\nPartner with teammates to develop and refine technical designs, applying the right level of structure and detail for the challenge at hand.\nRapidly iterate on customer-focused features, embracing feedback and adapting to evolving requirements and priorities.\nServe as a frontend or backend subject matter expert, sharing knowledge, mentoring team members, and contributing across the broader technology stack.\nWork closely with UX designers and cross-functional partners to create intuitive, efficient, and engaging user experiences.\nContinuously look for opportunities to improve our products, technologies, and development practices, helping the team innovate and grow together.\n\nWhat you'll need\n\n2+ years of experience developing web applications, with hands-on experience in one or more of the following technologies: React, Spring Boot, Python, or Go.\nA strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including software architecture, algorithms, and data structures.\nExperience building, deploying, and supporting applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or other leading cloud platforms.\nFamiliarity with microservices architectures and modern distributed systems.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance as a condition of employment.\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 10% as needed.\n\nWhat will help you on the job\n\nActive Secret or Top Secret security clearance.\nExperience working in Agile development environments and contributing to collaborative, iterative software development practices.\nFamiliarity with modern React frameworks and tools, such as Next.js, TanStack, or similar technologies.\nExperience with database technologies, particularly Redis, Elasticsearch, TimescaleDB, or other high-performance data platforms.\nInterest in or experience with UX/UI design and a passion for creating intuitive, user-centered experiences.\nExperience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Ansible, ArgoCD, or similar automation frameworks.\nHands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.\nLeadership experience or a desire to grow into leadership opportunities through mentoring, technical guidance, Scrum leadership, or project ownership.\n\n#LI-AF1\n\nSalary range\n\n$117,000.00 - $185,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $145,000.00- $218,000.00/ annually\n\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
