This position is highly collaborative, and remote work is not permitted.\nCompensation to be finalized upon agreement\nIntended Start Date: October 2026\nDescription\nCandidates should possess a foundation in software engineering and programming concepts and be ready to:\nParticipate in software development, testing, integration, and troubleshooting activities\nDevelop and maintain software applications utilizing a variety of programming languages and technologies\nSupport research, prototyping, and simulation activities, including projects utilizing the Godot game engine\nCollaborate with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions supporting FAA research initiatives\nRequired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities\n0-2 years of relevant experience\nKnowledge of computer programming languages and software development principles\nExperience developing software applications using languages such as Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, Tcl, or Bash\nAbility to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software and system issues\nStrong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills\nStrong collaboration skills with proven ability to work effectively in a team environment\nAvailable for full-time, on-site work and committed to in-person collaboration.\nPreferred Skills\nExperience with the Godot game engine\nFamiliarity with Git or other version control systems\nExperience developing or supporting educational, training, or instructional software/content\nFamiliarity with web development tools such as HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Node.js, or similar technologies\nRequired Education\nBachelor's degree in computer science or related field.\nOR\n5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree.\nMaster's Degree or MBA in related field may be substituted for Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience.\nPhD in related field may be substituted for Bachelor's degree and 7 years experience\nAbout VMC\nVMC was founded in 2004, with a primary focus on providing high-quality solutions-based support to Federal, State, Local, and Commercial clients including airports, municipalities, and higher education institutes.
