The Network Security Systems Instructor position requires an enthusiastic, knowledgeable individual capable of clearly articulating complex, technical subjects to security professionals possessing various degrees of technical knowledge, backgrounds, and abilities. The instructor must be an excellent communicator and possess solid technical skills in any of the following Network Security Systems (NSS) disciplines: High-Definition Security Video Systems, Data Center Configuration and Management, or Cyber Security Countermeasures. The incumbent requires infrequent supervision or mentoring to quickly master multiple technical security courses and instructional techniques.\n\nMajor Duties:\n\nCompletes self-pace comprehensive study and team mentoring of training courses to teach multiple training topics covering at least 25 days of course materials. The duration of each topic may vary.\nSuccessfully completes instructor qualification training to include technical proficiency of security topic(s) and demonstrates knowledge and skills of instructional techniques based on the Principles of Andragogy (adult learning).\nPresents hands-on training instructions by informing, demonstrating, facilitating practice, and evaluating student’s comprehension through written exams and lab exercises.\nPrepares training classroom and labs for instruction by accounting for training materials, setting-up audio-visual equipment, and testing training equipment.\nPerforms closeout activities by completing training records, reordering materials, submitting repair requests, and ensuring classroom and labs are operational for the next course.\nCollaborates with the curriculum designers and other stakeholders to develop training material according to instructional principles and program objectives.\nParticipates in developing and writing training materials for curriculum reviews and provides content for all phases of the instructional design process.\nProvides recommendations to improve training materials based on identifying and assessing training needs and researching problems.\nMentor instructors as well as provides cross-functional support across teams.\nParticipates in cross training to learn and master additional training topics.\nGuides team-teaching to ensure team members fully comprehends and applies course objectives and teaching points.\nQualifications:\n\nProfessional Qualifications/Skills:\n\nBachelor of Science or related degree from an accrediting institution to be credited towards qualifications or equivalent technical training. Years of experience may be substituted for formal education\n6+ years of technical skills and experience of installing, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing any of the following Network Security Systems: command line interface-based IT equipment, electronic systems, IoT devices, network-based CCTV, computer network equipment, installation of infrastructure, copper and fiber optic communication and signal wiring, enterprise managed networking hardware, and software configuration. Skills and experience should support any of the following:\n\no SIEM products\n\no Enterprise Linux\n\no Microsoft Windows Server\n\no Cisco Products\n\no Juniper Products\n\no Palo Alto Products\n\no Advanced Computer Networking\n\no Bare Metal Servers with virtualization\n\no Networked Closed Circuit TV Security Systems\n\no Fiber Optic Installation and Acceptance Testing\n\n3+ years in public speaking, delivering briefings, or instruction to groups of ten or more people.\nWorking knowledge and current industry recognized professional-level certification supporting any of the above types of systems.\n3+ years of experience in Department of State installation requirements is preferred.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to explain technical concepts to audiences with varying degrees of technical knowledge and ability.\nStrong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work effectively with all levels of technical and non-technical staff.\nExcellent organizational and time management skills.\nExperience with learning analysis and strategy, content design and development, content delivery, learning technology, or learning evaluation.\n3+ years of experience as an instructor, adult educator, or consultant in a professional work environment is preferred.\nKnowledge of Adult Learning Methodologies and other training/instructional design best practices.\n\nMust be a U.S. citizen and possess or be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance\n\nSecurity Clearance: Secret Company Information:\n\nHeadquartered in McLean, Virginia and founded in 2009, OBXtek is a fast-growing leader in the government contracting field.
