We're seeking a skilled Warehouse Associate to join our team at Baker Distributing Company, a leading wholesale HVAC distributorship. As a Warehouse Associate, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, including picking and verifying orders, conducting quality inspections, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.\n\nSummary\n\nThe Warehouse Associate is responsible for the inventory of the Warehouse and the daily transfer of HVAC freight and materials in a fast-paced environment. The ultimate goal of this role is to procure, pick, process, and dispatch products to customers and vendors for one of our established wholesale HVAC distributorships that carries multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies.\n\nEssential Duties/Accountabilities\n\nPick and verify orders for customers.\n\nNOTE: Baker has set Production Standards the employee will be required to meet on a weekly basis. The employee will receive additional information about Production Standards requirements during the interview process and after hire.\n\nConduct Quality Inspections to verify/ensure the products being received, picked and shipped are accurate.\n\nDaily loading and unloading of products in truck for delivery to customers and/or other Sales Centers.\n\nReceive, inspect, and stock all merchandise.\n\nPrepare orders for shipment as needed.\n\nResponsible for daily checklist of truck and forklift maintenance.\n\nAssist management with inventory counts and provide daily upkeep of the Warehouse.\n\nAdhere to all warehouse safety protocols and procedures.\n\nUtilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.\n\nReport any safety hazards or incidents immediately to management.\n\nParticipate in regular safety training sessions and drills.\n\nEnsure proper handling and storage of all products to prevent accidents and injuries.\n\nFollow all guidelines for the safe operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED required; equivalent experience may be considered.\n\nBachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may substitute.\n\nDemonstrated experience with HVAC equipment in a wholesale distribution setting.\n\nBackground in sales, operations, purchasing, or inventory management preferred.\n\nStrong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, problem-solving, and relationship-building.\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.\n\nDemonstrated interest in continuous learning, mentoring, and leadership.\n\nMechanical or technical experience preferred.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools; assistive technologies may be used to support this function.\n\nA valid driver’s license is required only if driving is an essential function of the role.\n\nSkills\n\nStrong interpersonal skills.\n\nExcellent customer service mindset with the ability to develop long term relationships.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nExcellent analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data.\n\nStrong and creative problem-solving skills\n\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment.\n\nProactively seeks continuous process and service improvements.\n\nThis role requires the ability to understand and communicate in English to comply with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures.
