Is responsible for maintaining an inventory of products in the warehouse and outside pipe storage yard. Moves product around and loads and unloads trucks using a forklift.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nWorks at following and promoting company safety rules and policies and following accepted safe work practices.\nSafely operates forklifts to move pipe and materials to and from the production areas, pad, scales, and warehouse and to load and unload trucks.\nCompares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming or outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.\nDetermine the most cost-effective method of transportation.\nAffix shipping labels or stencil shipping information on cartons and containers.\nAssembles wooden or cardboard containers.\nInserts items into containers for damage free shipments.\nUse hand tools such as hammers or banders to secure boxes or containers for shipment.\nPosts weights, shipping charges and affixes postage.\nUnpacks and examines incoming shipments. Rejects damaged goods, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.\nExamines outgoing goods to ensure shipments meet specifications.\nMaintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Organizes these materials in a warehouse.\nIs competent concerning load construction including multi-stop loads.\nPerforms daily checks on forklifts to assure that they are in safe working order.\n15. Attends required training sessions and wears the required safety equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses and other safety equipment that might be required for certain jobs or tasks.\n16. Be responsible for training and direction of temporary workers and new hires.\n17. Is willing to learn new tasks and take on individual responsibilities\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One-year experience in forklift driving.\nCOMPUTER SKILLS\nExperience with computers and basic keyboarding skills.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.\nREASONING ABILITY\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in changing situations.
