{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"79bfb422a3c3ed98b76420d0","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/79bfb422a3c3ed98b76420d0","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/79bfb422a3c3ed98b76420d0","title":"Network Engineer","description":"Network Engineer\nShintech Louisiana LLC\n** This position can be located out of our Freeport,TX or Plaquemine, LA facilities.\nPosition:\nNetwork Engineer\n\nReports to:\nIT Director\n\nLocation:\nFreeport, TX or Plaquemine, LA\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nMaintain regular and punctual attendance.\nDesign, implement, and manage scalable and secure network infrastructure.\nEvaluate and recommend network hardware, software, and services.\nAnalyze and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.\nConfigure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.\nCollaborate with systems and security teams on infrastructure projects.\nEnsure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.\nDevelop and enforce network security policies and procedures.\nMonitor network performance and implement improvements.\nProvide technical guidance and training to IT staff and end users.\nAnalyze network usage trends and optimize performance and reliability.\nProactively identify and mitigate potential network risks.\nMaintain documentation of network configurations and procedures.\nCommunicate planned maintenance and outages to stakeholders.\nResearch and implement new technologies to enhance network capabilities.\nMaintain confidentiality and integrity of network data.\nDocument incidents, resolutions, and lessons learned.\nSupport other departments with network-related needs.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience.\nIndustry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or other Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto equivalent.\nExperience in network architecture, capacity planning, and performance tuning.\nProficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.\nStrong knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, wireless, and cloud networking.\nUnderstanding of organizational goals and IT strategy.\nKnowledge of data privacy regulations and secure network design principles.\nFamiliarity with project management methodologies and tools.\nStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.\nAbility to research and evaluate emerging networking technologies.\nSkill in translating technical concepts into business-friendly language.\nProficiency in technical documentation and cost analysis.\nSelf-motivated with strong attention to detail.\nAnalytical and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.\nStrong customer service orientation.\nExperience in collaborative, team-based, multi-site environments.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
