By combining consumer insights, innovative product experiences, and data-driven decision making, the team is focused on strengthening direct relationships with our consumers and accelerating the growth of Mattel’s global ecommerce business.\n\nJob Description\n\nThe Opportunity:\nThe team is seeking a Consumer Data Analyst to help unlock the value of consumer and ecommerce data to drive business growth. The Analyst will report to the Manager Consumer Data & Advanced Analytics and will be located in our El Segundo, CA office.\nWhat Your Impact Will Be:\nQuantitative Methods\nKnowledge of descriptive statistical measures\nKnowledge of consumer analyses (e.g. new vs returning consumer behavior, consumer cohorts, consumer journeys)\nPropose quantitative approaches and conduct analyses\nAwareness of modeling, ready to apply the following with guidance: data cleaning, linear / logistic regression, segmentation, churn / propensity, lifetime value\nProgramming / Tools\nProficient with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Redshift, BigQuery)\nProficiency with SQL, querying accurately with minimal review\nAbility to do the following with either Python or R:\nClean, explore, and transform data\nApply statistical analyses and predictive models\nUse either notebooks or scripts to develop clean, standardized code\nData Visualization\nExperience designing action-oriented visualizations that tell a story and drive results\nApplication of methods appropriate for summarizing and displaying both categorical and numeric data\nExperience designing and developing interactive dashboards in tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sisense)\nExperience in producing plots and visualizations programmatically (e.g. matplotlib, ggplot)\nBusiness Knowledge\nUnderstanding of e-commerce business domain\nUnderstanding of measures relevant to context (KPI’s): conversion, demand, net sales, AOV, retention rate, RFM\nCritical Thinking / Innovation\nTakes initiative to identify problems and be proactive in providing solutions\nAble to reason through theories, facts, and potential choices to determine logical implications\nDemonstrates continuous learning\nCommunication\nAbility to tell a concise story to business stakeholders with actionable recommendations, providing quantitative evidence when needed\nDocuments analysis, assumptions, methodology, and results clearly and at the appropriate level of detail\nIndependence\nBalances independent problem-solving with asking questions\nAbility to manage multiple tasks according to priority, schedule, resources, etc\nBonus Points\nUnderstanding of data transformation processes or ETL\nExperience with cloud architecture (e.g. GCP, AWS)\n\nQualifications\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nBachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline\n2+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a related field\nPrior experience in ecommerce, digital analytics, consumer analytics, or retail environments preferred\nThe pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
