What we're looking for: We are looking for a professional and motivated prep cook to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing food to serve in our kitchen. The ideal candidate will be able to follow instructions and work with a sense of urgency. They will also be able to maintain a clean and orderly kitchen while performing daily tasks such as setting up workstations and fetching ingredients and cooking supplies. We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and has an interest in working with people of diverse backgrounds. Job duties: Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking Prepare cooking ingredients by washing dishes, cleaning ovens, etc. Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc. Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines Perform other kitchen duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as prep cook or similar role Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils Job Types: Contract, Part-time, Full-time Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid training Referral program Physical Setting: Casual dining restaurant Fast casual restaurant Shift: 8 hour shift Day shift Evening shift People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Ability to commute/relocate: Midway, UT 84049: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: kitchen: 2 years (Preferred) Shift availability: Day Shift (Required) Work Location: In person
