This position requires strongteamwork within the Construction Department, as well as cross-collaborationwith other departments across the organization.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nThe Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range ofduties performed by the employee and not intended to reflect all dutiesperformed.\n\nLeadership & Team Management\n\nLead an Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering team andprovide leadership and mentorship through coaching, feedback, development goalsand performance management.\n\nAccountable for the staffing, schedules andcompliance associated with OSP engineering and construction activities, alongwith the safety and quality of work performed.\n\nOversee production of all engineering workorders within an assigned geographic area. Ensure engineering work orders aredesigned in compliance with all company standards, NESC, and municipalrequirements, as well as public ROW or utility easements. Confirm project costestimates are accurate. Release work orders to Construction in time to meetcommitment dates.\n\nManage Engineering process and documentationthrough project completion.\n\nPermitting, Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement\n\nIdentify permitting authorities based onproposed routes including municipalities, government entities, utility ownersand any other agencies who have authority over the right-of-way in which we areproposing to construct. Oversee the completion of necessary permitapplications.\n\nDevelop, coordinate, and execute projectschedules with contractors, property management, customers, vendors, internalstakeholders, municipalities, and government agencies.\n\nCoordinate and participate in various internalmeetings to ensure communication and alignment of initiatives, informationsharing and implementation of best practices.\n\nCoordinate with State, local municipalities, andutilities.\n\nVerify contractor’s invoices for accuracy andprocess to AP in a timely manner.\n\nOther Duties\n\nPerformsother duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nHighschool diploma or GED.\n\nMinimumof eight (8) years of outside plant (OSP) experience, including quoting,permitting and other pre-construction activities.\n\nDevelopedleadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead others.\n\nExperienceusing fiber optic network documentation tools.\n\nAdvancedunderstanding of the permitting process for railroad, DOT, cities, counties,and pole owners.\n\nMust have and maintain a validdriver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.\n\nMust complete a pre-employment drug screening.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n\nMusthave computer competency including proficiency with Microsoft Suite andunderstanding of database programs.\n\nAbilityto type minimum of 40 WPM 40.\n\nAbilityto consistently deliver outstanding customer service to all internal andexternal customers.\n\nAbilityto work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to avariety of situations.\n\nAbilityto multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meetdeadlines.\n\nAbilityto adjust to rapidly changing priorities.\n\nStrongverbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizationalskills.\n\nStronginterpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse rangeof individuals, teams, managers, supervisors, and external customers, as wellas cohesively across departments.\n\nAbilityto work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to avariety of situations.\n\nAbilityto maintain a professional manner and appearance.\n\nAbilityto travel occasionally overnight.\n\nWork Authorization\nApplicants must be currently authorized towork in the US for any employer.
