We offer company events, activities, and opportunities to participate in charitable initiatives that benefit the communities where we are located.\nwww.sms-group.us\nWhat you’ll do\nProcess Engineering & Field Services\nSupport post-project commissioning activities for Electric & Automation and Digital systems.\nPerform process model tuning, validation, and optimization for Hot Strip Mill operations.\nExecute on-site troubleshooting of process, automation, and digital application issues.\nSupport Hot Strip Mill Health Checks and performance audits.\nDigital Applications & Software Support\nDeploy, configure, and support digital products including:\nHSM Expert Application\nGenius Condition Monitoring\nCamera-based Hot Strip Mill applications\nAssist with data integration, signal validation, and analytics pipelines.\nSupport AI/ML-enabled features such as anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, and performance optimization.\nCollaborate with software development teams to test, validate, and improve applications.\nLifecycle Services, Modernization & Upgrades\nSupport digital, electrical, and automation modernization projects.\nAssist in implementing upgrades, retrofits, and new digital functionalities at customer sites.\nEnsure smooth transition from commissioning to long-term service and support contracts.\nTechnical Sales & Customer Interaction\nProvide technical support during sales, proposals, and customer workshops.\nTranslate operational challenges into process and digital solution recommendations.\nSupport customer training and knowledge transfer for digital and automation systems.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with:\nProcess Technology teams\nDigital & Software Engineering\nElectric & Automation service teams\nSupport continuous improvement of service tools, documentation, and best practices.\nContribute feedback from the field to product development and R&D teams\nWhat you’ll need\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in:\nProcess Engineering\nElectrical Engineering\nAutomation Engineering\nComputer Science\nData Science or a related technical discipline\n2–5+ years of experience in:\nIndustrial process engineering, automation, or digital applications\nSteel or metals industry experience is a strong advantage\nExperience with:\nIndustrial automation systems\nProcess models\nData analytics or software applications is highly desirable\nWhat we offer\nCompetitive compensation, medical/dental/vision coverage, paid vacation, paid holiday time, 401k with a company match, training, a tuition reimbursement program and more!\nWhat we do\nSMS group is the leading partner in the world of metals.
