Senior Municipal Engineer

Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Municipal Engineer. Our team works with local communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff in various capacities. V&K BENEFITS * Benefits available 30 days following date of employment, includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, Short and Long Term Disability, plus additional supplemental insurances * Clothing allowance * 401k with company match * Paid Time Off and 9 paid holidays * Paid training and development on and off-site RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare detailed technical engineering reports. * Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects. * Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction. * Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule. * Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings. REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required. * Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred/desired. * Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred. * Previous roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design experience desired. * Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
