In this fast-paced environment, the design to launch cycle is measured in weeks and months, not years!\r\nWhat You'll Do as a Spacecraft Embedded Software Engineer:\r\nDevelop daemons in Rust that interface with embedded systems using low-level protocols\r\nImplement communication interfaces between embedded systems and higher-level processes\r\nIntegrate C code for specific hardware interfaces\r\nContribute to the design and implementation of fault-tolerant systems\r\nCollaborate closely with the Electrical Engineering team to ensure optimal software-hardware integration\r\nCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation for APIs and system architectures\r\nContribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools\r\nKey Skills\r\nProven experience in embedded systems development using Rust\r\nKnowledge of or adaptability to Linux-based development (Ubuntu)\r\nProficiency in integrating C code with Rust projects\r\nExperience with real-time communication protocols\r\nExperience with inter-process communication protocols\r\nUnderstanding of electronics and ability to communicate effectively with hardware engineers\r\nPreferred Skills\r\nFamiliarity with safety-critical embedded systems in any industry\r\nExperience with Yocto for embedded systems\r\nKnowledge of version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub\r\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines\r\nExperience with project management tools\r\nProficiency in scripting languages like Python and Bash\r\nUnderstanding of cybersecurity principles for embedded systems\r\nKnowledge of telemetry and command systems\r\nExperience with formal verification methods for critical software components\r\nExperience in implementing Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) systems for embedded applications\r\nTools and Technologies: Rust, C, Bash/Python, Ubuntu (development environment), Yocto (target environment), Git (version control).\r\nSpire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.\r\nAccess to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role.
