Become part of our team.\nJob Description\nRole Summary\nThe Technical Application Engineer supports MANN+HUMMEL Water & Membrane Solution’s growth by providing product and application expertise both to customers and our organization. The Technical Application Engineer will have the responsibility to support the sales growth of our spiral, hollow fiber UF, tubular and capillary, and MBR products in the North American market, as well as to perform technical reviews with key existing customers in all product sectors to strengthen future business. This position will support new project business, OEM partnerships, field trials, on-site plant inspections, technical training of operators, creation of system warranties and development of modeling software. The position will prospect, implement, analyze, and document field trials to support ongoing process and product improvement programs.\nMain Tasks\nPossesses a thorough knowledge of assigned products and targeted applications.\nAnswers product, operation, and application questions from current and prospective clients. Answers similar questions from within the organization.\nPrepares technical submittal package for project RFQ.\nDesigns membrane system layouts using proprietary company software.\nSupports customer pilot testing or leads internal pilot/application testing.\nProvides technical training to sales professionals, customer operators, and other technical engineers.\nRecognizes, anticipates, and solves customer problems to minimize warranty liabilities.\nManages system start-up and troubleshooting, both on site and remote.\nDefines annual, value-creating personal goals consistent with business strategy.\nDevelops and builds relationships with internal and external customers.\nUnderstands and proactively analyses customer’s business to identify product and service needs.\nSuggesting improvements to products and operating strategies to Engineering based on customer experience.\nWrites case studies, application bulletins, technical papers, and journal articles. Participates in and presents papers at conferences and industry meetings as appropriate.\nDelivers written and oral presentations to customers, industry colleagues, and MANN+HUMMEL Water & Membrane Solutions staff as needed.\nManages warranties for multiple product families, develops performance warranties for key projects.\nPerforms job duties with business ethics that represents the company in accordance with its values and vision.\nThis position may require moderate to extensive domestic travel.\nYour Profile\nEducation Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering preferred, other technical disciplines considered\nCertification Requirements:\nA valid driver’s license in applicable geographic areas.\nExperience Requirements:\n1-3 years experience in a technical, field service or operations role, preferably with a knowledge of membranes desirable.\nSkills & Abilities:\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.\nGood analytical problem solving ability\nMechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools\nAre you full of ideas?
