This is a full-time, direct position, and relocation support is offered. The position provides a base salary of $100,000–$130,000 (potentially higher depending on experience), plus bonus, stock options, and benefits.\nPosition Overview\nThe Process Development Engineer will have the unique opportunity to oversee and participate in industry-leading research on rare earth processing, with the chance to implement learnings at a commercial scale. The role involves developing novel techniques and performing R&D aimed at improving and expanding the company’s existing rare earth processing capabilities. The Process Development Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with process development engineering staff, process engineers, analytical chemists, operators, and management in the development, design, implementation, startup, and optimization of various unit operations.\nPosition Responsibilities\nDevelop processes and products utilizing rare earth elements.\nPerform research on existing technology, processes, and products.\nExplore new process technologies and investigate their applicability in rare earth processing.\nConceive, assemble, and execute laboratory, pilot, and plant-scale testing and experiments to produce conclusive outcomes.\nPromote process safety and risk management while participating in quality and environmental management systems.\nCoordinate with operations personnel on implementation of new processes.\nDevelop and communicate cost, benefit, and risk information on processes and products.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field (ABET-accredited institution preferred).\nMinimum 2 years of work experience in a Chemical, Mining, Petroleum, or heavy industrial setting preferred.\nValid Driver’s License and a good driving record are required to drive company vehicles on and off property.\nDesired Qualities\nSome experience in process and/or product development is desirable.\nExperience or knowledge of leaching, clarification, filtration, ion exchange, solvent extraction, precipitation, CSTRs, evaporation, crystallization, drying, calcining, solids handling, scrubbers.\nAttention to detail and ability to learn new duties.\nAbility to work with people at all levels within the organization.\nAbility to create, read, and modify PFDs and P&IDs.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).\nExperience with Process Modeling & Simulation Software a plus (Aspen, Matlab/Simulink, SysCAD).\nAbility to travel as needed.\nAbility to write technical SOPs.\nMust thrive in a high-stress, start-up environment.\nWe thank all applicants for their interest.
