Lead Electrical Designer- Power GenerationOverviewThis opportunity is with a well-established, nationally recognized engineering firm known for delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects across the power generation space. In this role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects—contributing to critical infrastructure that supports both current and future energy demands.As part of the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) team, you’ll play a key role in developing high-quality 2D and 3D engineering deliverables. This position is ideal for someone with strong electrical design experience who enjoys both technical work and leadership responsibilities.What You’ll Be DoingServe in a lead technician and technical design role, supporting complex power generation projectsDevelop and modify electrical design drawings using industry-standard tools such as Bentley MicroStation and other Bentley platformsContribute to the design of key electrical systems, including duct banks, cable trays, grounding, and lighting systemsSupport the creation of accurate 2D/3D models and deliverables for large-scale infrastructure projectsEnsure designs meet quality standards while staying on track with project schedules and budgetsCoordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and project stakeholdersProvide oversight, mentorship, and direction to junior technicians and support staffHelp drive efficiency and consistency across design workflows and project executionRequired QualificationsWhat They’re Looking ForAssociate degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology (or related field)~15+ years of experience in power generation or related industrial design environmentsStrong experience with MicroStation and 3D design/modeling toolsHands-on experience with duct bank design, cable tray layouts, grounding systems, and general electrical infrastructureAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a larger teamPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering Design Technology or similarExperience with lighting design, including AGI32 (nice to have, not required)Background in leading teams or acting in a senior/lead technical capacityWhy This Role Stands OutOpportunity to work with a top-tier engineering firm known for complex power and infrastructure projectsExposure to advanced power generation initiatives and cutting-edge design environmentsStrong emphasis on collaboration, technical excellence, and innovationLeadership opportunities with the ability to mentor and guide junior team membersCompetitive, stable environment with long-term project pipelinesWork EnvironmentThis is an onsite role within a collaborative office setting, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
