The exact level will be determined through our interview process based on experience, technical expertise, scope of ownership, and demonstrated impact.What You'll Do\r\nDesign, build, test, and shipfull-stack product featuresacross frontend applications and backend systems.Build intuitive, responsive user experiences usingReact, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS .Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and business logic usingPython and Django .Design APIs and data models that support scalable, reliable product experiences.Own features throughout the entire software development lifecycle—from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.Collaborate with Product and Design to translate customer and business needs into thoughtful technical solutions.Work with Solutions Engineering and other customer-facing teams to understand real-world use cases and solve complex integration challenges.Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions as Forage's products and platform scale.Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and engineering best practices.Debug and resolve issues across the stack, including frontend applications, backend services, APIs, infrastructure, and third-party integrations.Help improve our engineering practices, developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and overall system reliability.What We're Looking For\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.4+ years of professional software engineering experience.Experience building and shippingproduction full-stack applications , with meaningful contributions to both frontend and backend systems.Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language or framework and one modern frontend framework.Experience designing and consumingREST APIsand working with relational data models.Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system design, testing, debugging, performance, and maintainability.Experience working with cloud infrastructure, ideallyAWS .Ability to independently take a feature or technical problem from definition through production.Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where engineers collaborate across traditional frontend and backend boundaries.Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, design, and business teams.Passion for building reliable products and exceptional customer experiences.Preferred Technical Experience\r\nExperience with some or all of the following:Backend:Python, Django, REST APIsFrontend:TypeScript, React, HTML/CSSMobile:React NativeInfrastructure:AWS, cloud-native architecturesSystems:Distributed systems, asynchronous processing, scalable APIsData:Relational databases, data modeling, query optimizationEngineering Practices:Automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and modern development workflowsYou don't need experience with every technology in our stack. We define hybrid as 2-3 days in office.Your base salary would fall within the bands below. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.Expected salary range: $145k-$195k USD base salary, plus equity and benefits.
