The controller will identify accounting and financial issues, suggest timely solutions, and lead implementation of projects.\nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPrepare financial statements.\nManage internal and external reviews.\nManage Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.\nMaintain integrity and accuracy of monthly journal entries and general ledger close process.\nManage and/or perform balance sheet and cash account reconciliations monthly.\nCommunicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team.\nPrimary contact with financial auditors & bankers.\nResponsible for ensuring compliance with all state and local sales and use tax requirements.\nCreate and implement accounting policy documents.\nPerform continuous assessment of the month-end and year-end closing process.\nLead, train and develop staff.\nParticipate in other projects as required.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP.\nExperience with ERP software is required (Infor Syteline experience a plus).\n5+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required.\nStrong analytical skills; demonstrate a probing mind; think independently.\nAbility to place a high emphasis on good controls surrounding financial reporting process.\nEffectively collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.\nAbility to effectively communicate orally and in writing; crisply communicate goals and objectives; possesses the ability to respond effectively to direct questions.\nAbility to participate in and facilitate group meetings.\nCreative: generates new approaches to problems, demonstrates imagination.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor's degree and CPA license preferred.\nSupervisory experience required.\nFinancial reporting experience required\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
