Apprentice Lineman

OverviewTri-County Electric Cooperative is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Apprentice Lineman to join our team. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to build a long-term career in electric distribution. The successful candidate will work under the direction of experienced linemen to assist in the construction, maintenance, and operation of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.This is a structured apprenticeship role requiring ongoing training and skill development to progress within the program.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground electric distribution linesSafely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles used in line workLearn installation and maintenance of meters, transformers, regulators, and related equipmentMaintain accurate daily records of time, materials, and work performedSupport inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and specificationsFollow all applicable safety rules, including OSHA and industry standardsProvide courteous, professional service to customers and the publicParticipate in required training programs (including occasional overnight travel)Perform other duties as assignedRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent plus a certificate or degree in Electrical Distribution Systems (or related field)Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required (no restrictions)Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certificationWillingness to work overtime and irregular hours, including emergency responseAbility to pass physical examination and drug screeningMust reside within 34 miles of the cooperativeStrong work ethic, teamwork skills, and commitment to safetyWorking ConditionsWork performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsPhysically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, standing, walking, bending, and kneelingExposure to potentially hazardous environments requiring strict adherence to safety proceduresWhat We OfferCompetitive payComprehensive benefits package, including:Medical insuranceLife insuranceRetirement planAdditional InformationThis position description outlines the general nature of the role and is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties or responsibilities.
