Housekeeping Inspector (Hybrid Housekeeper/Inspector Role)The Housekeeping Inspector is a key quality-focused team member responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and guest readiness standards throughout the property. This hybrid role combines hands-on housekeeping responsibilities (2-3 days per week) with inspection and quality assurance duties (2 days per week), ensuring consistency between operational execution and established service standards. Housekeeping Responsibilities (2-3 Days per Week)While serving as a Housekeeper, this position is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned guest rooms and public areas in accordance with property standards and brand expectations. Duties include: Making beds and changing linens according to sanitation guidelines Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing furniture and fixtures Replenishing guest amenities and supplies Removing trash and handling laundry as required Reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items promptly Completing rooms within established productivity timeframes The individual must demonstrate strong attention to detail, efficiency, and adherence to health and safety standards. Professionalism and respect for guest privacy are essential at all times. Inspection & Quality Assurance Responsibilities (2 Days per Week)When assigned as an Inspector, the role shifts to quality control and team support. The Housekeeping Inspector ensures all cleaned rooms and public areas meet company cleanliness standards and are guest-ready. Responsibilities include: Conducting detailed inspections of guest rooms, suites, and common areas Identifying cleanliness deficiencies or maintenance concerns Documenting inspection results accurately and clearly Coordinating re-cleans or corrective action as needed Providing constructive feedback and on-the-spot coaching to housekeeping staff Assisting with training new hires on cleaning procedures and brand standards Monitoring inventory levels of linens, supplies, and amenities Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction The Inspector serves as a role model by upholding high standards and leading by example, drawing from their hands-on housekeeping experience to guide and support the team effectively. Qualifications & SkillsStrong knowledge of housekeeping procedures and sanitation standards Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to provide feedback in a professional and supportive manner Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation (if applicable) Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform cleaning tasks Work EnvironmentThis role requires flexibility, as duties vary between operational cleaning and supervisory inspection tasks throughout the week. The position involves physical labor, frequent movement, and interaction with team members and guests.
