RN Oncology

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and a passion for providing high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans. Monitor vital signs and assess patients' conditions regularly, ensuring timely interventions as needed. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including esthetic laser treatments when appropriate. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in discharge planning and outpatient follow-up care. Educate patients and their families about treatment options, side effects, and self-care strategies related to oncology. Maintain accurate patient records using Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems. Participate in family planning discussions as part of holistic patient care. Conduct gastric lavage procedures when indicated and within the scope of practice. Uphold safety standards in occupational health while caring for patients. Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Previous experience in oncology nursing or related fields is preferred. Strong knowledge of hospital medicine practices and discharge planning processes. Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and performing essential nursing assessments. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
