Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.\nKey Accountabilities:\nProvides knowledge of numerical control, machining, and programming inspection machine tools\nPerforms a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis of NC programs to ensure validation and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements and specifications\nAnalyze blueprints, engineering models, and electronic controls to support NC programming\nWork with NC programmers to optimize or modify programs as required\nProgram CMM’s, portable inspection devices and provide verification of NC programs using software and apps\nAbility to collaborate in a team environment\nValidates fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams\nCommunicates with cross-functional teams to influence and clarify design concepts\nCoordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, and addresses producibility issues as well as production & post-production problems\nRequired Qualifications:\nAbility to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, metallic machining, sheet metal, systems, structures and inspection\n2-5 years experience in numerical control (NC) programming, concentrating on multi-axis machines, metallic or composite materials\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with inspection machine tools and NC Programming software\nFrequent interaction with internal personnel in the manufacturing environment and occasionally with inter-organizational personnel and external customers\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models\nStrong skills in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel\nStrong knowledge of SAP\nCATIA; ENOVIA;; Metrologic; Verisurf; Polyworks\nUnderstanding of the master scheduling requirements\nAbility to take a project from start to finish\nWillingness to work cross-functionally\nAssociate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, subject to experience in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or other related course of study a plus but not required.\nUnion:\nThis is a union-represented position.\n\nPay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\n\nSummary Pay Range: $60,100 - $92,150\n\nKansas Tax Credit: Join Spirit AeroSystems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
