This position plays a critical role in maintaining highly available IT systems that directly support patient care and regulatory compliance.\nThis is remote 1099 independent Subcontractor position for 8 hours a day. Subcontractor must be 100% dedicated to this role for any 8 hours between 8 am to 6pm. Subcontractor will be required to go through Public Trust background investigation and Subcontractor will need to travel to customer Site in Bethesda (Maryland), at their own expense, to pick up Laptop and ID badge.\n::: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :::\nAdminister and maintain Windows Server infrastructure supporting clinical and research applications.\nPerform routine server patching, upgrades, and security updates to ensure systems remain secure and compliant.\nAdminister and maintain enterprise databases, including database development, maintenance, backup, and performance optimization.\nSupport and maintain mission-critical applications.\nMonitor server and database performance to maximize uptime and quickly resolve system issues.\nMaintain software licensing and coordinate application upgrades with vendors.\nProtect sensitive patient and research data, including Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI), in accordance with NIH and Federal security requirements.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to support regulatory compliance and operational continuity.\nProduce system health and performance metrics to demonstrate infrastructure reliability and readiness.\nCollaborate with application owners, vendors, and IT staff to support ongoing system improvements and modernization efforts.\n::: Value to the Department :::\nThis position provides the technical expertise necessary to maintain a secure, reliable, and compliant server and database environment that supports the Department's operations.
