{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"78711d6ba4b70761fd8ec3ca","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/78711d6ba4b70761fd8ec3ca","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/78711d6ba4b70761fd8ec3ca","title":"Project Engineer","description":"Job Description\nPosition: Project Engineer\n\nReports To: Project Manager\n\nDepartment: Project Management\n\nFLSA Status: Exempt\n\nPosition Value Proposition\nThe Project Engineer assists in managing the flow of technical information between the Graywolf Project Management team, customers, and subcontractors and vendors, while developing critical relationships with internal and external clients, through verbal and written communication.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\nReviews design drawings and 3D BIM Models for accuracy and completeness, and coordinates resolution of discrepancies and/or missing information with customers, design team, other trades, detailing, shop, and field as may be necessary.\n\nCoordinates project sequencing and basic detailing job setup including advance bills and shop and erection drawings.\n\nProvides instructions and guidance to steel detailers in preparing models, shop drawings and erection drawings per project requirements and standards.\n\nMonitors project schedules regarding submittals, approvals, and shop fabrication releases. Identifies and communicates possible delays or problems to project management team.\n\nOrganizes detailing RFI process through formal RFI to customer and informal RFIs with the engineer, architect, and general contractor. Facilitates and fulfills other documentation efforts and duties as may be required.\n\nDistributes and routes drawings. Preference given to candidates with Associate’s Degree or training from an approved and accredited technical school in engineering, detailing, CAD/Computer Aided Drafting, BIM/Building Information Modeling and/or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Structural/Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Architectural or Business.\n\nWork Experience\nPreferred work experience with structural steel projects, including coordination, detailing, BIM and/or design. Experience with AWS and AISC is a plus.\n\nSpecialized Knowledge\nAbility to read and interpret design, shop and erection drawings. General understanding and knowledge of basic drafting skills, 3D modeling software/Tekla practices, fabrication and erection standards, standard technical terminology, common structural steel practices, and drafting room procedures.\n\nSoftware, Technology and Equipment Used\nPersonal Computer; phone; Computer Software including: Microsoft Office platform, MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook; Project management software including Procore, MS Project, Primavera scheduling, and Bluebeam; Fabrication software including PowerFab/FabSuite, Strumis and/or Fabtrol; CAD/BIM software including AutoCAD, Tekla.
