Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - CVORT
American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac CST for a Level II Trauma hospital OR in Bangor, ME, with a broad multi-specialty caseload across 26 service lines and a minimum of 1 year of surgical tech experience.Job Details• Large 411-bed, Level II Trauma hospital with 22 ORs,• Facility operates 24/7 with an average of 60 cases per day across 26 service lines,• Patient population spans all ages from pediatrics to adults,• Pediatric cases are predominantly ENT, General, and Orthopedic,• Cardiac and vascular cases include open and endovascular procedures such as carotid, fem-pop, endo AAA, stenting, and TCARs,• Additional case types include Neuro (craniotomy, TLIF, VP shunts), Trauma/General (open bellies, GSW, stabbings, liver lacerations), Urology, ENT, GYN, Ortho/Ortho Trauma, Thoracic, Ophthalmology (Retina), and Maxillofacial/Dental,• Robotics experience with Da Vinci XI is preferred but not required; proof of Intuitive Training modules required if robotically trained,• No floating required,• Shift is 6:30a-5p with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shift options depending on the assignment,• Weekend rotation requires approximately 1 weekend day per 4-week schedule, though Surgical Techs may be scheduled for more than 1; either Saturday or Sunday, not both,• On-call is required: day shift staff average 2-3 call shifts per 4-week period, attached to the end of a scheduled shift, consisting of a mix of short call (end of shift to 7p) and overnight call (end of shift to 7a),• Call response time is 30 minutes; no sleep room is available on site,• Holiday coverage is minimal; only major holidays are observed in this OR,• RTO requires manager approval,• Surgical scrubs are provided by the facility,• Free parking is available,Job Requirements• Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac CST or surgical technology experience required; additional experience preferred,• BLS certification required,• CST credential preferred but not required,• Comfort with wearing lead is required,• Compact or ME state license required if applicable,• Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles south/southwest of the facility to be eligible,• Candidates who have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity are not eligible,• Flu vaccination required for clearance to start,Additional Information• First-time travelers are not preferred; at least one prior travel assignment is expected, and first-time travelers require manager approval,• A manager interview is required as part of the hiring process,• Orientation consists of 2 days with a preceptor,• Support structure includes a Supervisor/Manager, Assistant Manager (Surg Tech), Assistant Nurse Manager, Team Leads for each of the 8 service lines, CRNAs, Anesthesiologists, Anesthesia Techs, Orderlies, Equipment Reps, Charge RNs, an OR Educator, and RT available 24/7,• Anesthesia Techs and Orderlies assist with room turnover,• All RTO requests must be disclosed at the time of consideration,• Two professional references within the past year are required, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Director (Charge Nurse acceptable; peer references are not accepted),• A Driver's License is required for consideration,• Candidates living 100+ miles north of the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis with individual approval from facility leadership
