This role will focus on thermal hydraulic and transient analysis activities supporting advanced reactor system design, plant operations analysis, and control system integration.\nThe ideal candidate will have strong experience with system analysis codes such as RELAP5 or TRACE, along with a strong foundation in thermal hydraulics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and nuclear plant transient analysis.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop RELAP5-3D models for steady-state and transient one-dimensional hydraulic network analyses\nPerform reactor and plant transient analyses for normal operations, upset conditions, emergency events, and faulted scenarios\nDevelop plant-level control strategies and component-level controllers\nPerform calculations using first principles of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics to validate analytical results\nSupport evaluation of plant-wide transients, operational narratives, and design solutions\nPerform multiscale and multidisciplinary thermal hydraulic analyses involving sodium, molten salt, and non-condensable fluids\nCollaborate closely with safety, I&C, design engineering, and testing teams\nSupport development of new analytical methods and advanced modeling techniques\nPrepare technical reports, calculations, and engineering documentation\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline\nStrong experience with thermal hydraulic system codes such as RELAP5 and/or TRACE\nStrong analytical background in:\nThermal hydraulics\nFluid dynamics\nHeat transfer\nTransient analysis\nOne-dimensional hydraulic network modeling\nStrong technical writing and communication skills\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment\nHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with ASME component design and analysis\nExperience modeling control systems and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)\nExperience supporting nuclear power plant design or operations\nExperience developing new analytical methods\nAdvanced reactor or sodium-cooled reactor experience\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements\nAbility to sit and/or stand for extended periods\nMinimal lifting requirements up to 25 pounds\nProlonged computer and keyboard work\nStandard office or engineering work environment\nOccasional travel up to 5%\nAdditional Information\nThis position may require compliance with U.S. export control regulations.
