Applicants should be local to Augusta, ME and able to work onsite for a few months, and then move to a hybrid work model. Occasional travel will be possible to BMV offices throughout Maine.\nResponsibilities:\nIT Project Manager Responsibilities:\nBMV seeks to contract a professional with IT-related project management experience to lead the business efforts surrounding modernization of our internal software applications.\nThis professional must sustain a functional relationship with their key counterpart, the IT Project Manager for Modernization.\nThe Project Manager directs, controls, administers, and regulates an enhancement or development program.\nThe Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to drive the entire effort from start to finish.\nThe Project Manager must ensure that the program is completed on schedule, on budget, and that the final product meets the business, technical, and established quality requirements.\n\nProject Planning and Execution:\n\nDevelop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.\nDefine project scope, goals, and deliverables and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.\nLead project teams and coordinate resources to execute project tasks and achieve project milestones.\nMonitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and identify risks and issues proactively.\nImplement effective project management methodologies and best practices to optimize project outcomes.\n\nStakeholder Management:\n\nEstablish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, developers, designers, and other project team members.\nCommunicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders regularly and facilitate decision-making processes as needed.\nManage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project priorities, requirements, and timelines.\n\nTeam Leadership and Development:\n\nProvide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nSet clear goals and expectations for team members and provide regular feedback on performance.\nIdentify training and development needs for team members and support their professional growth and skill enhancement.\n\nQuality Assurance and Risk Management:\n\nImplement quality assurance processes and standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.\nConduct thorough testing and validation of software deliverables to identify and address defects and issues.\nIdentify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impact on project success.\n\nClient Relationship Management:\n\nServe as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.\nManage client expectations and negotiate changes to project scope, schedule, and budget as necessary.\nFoster positive client relationships through proactive communication, transparency, and a commitment to delivering value.\nQualifications:\nIT Project Manager Required Skills:\nMust have at least 5+ years of IT Project Management experience\nMust have prior experience supporting large IT modernization project experience\nStrong understanding of software development methodologies.\nProficiency in project management tools and software, such as Smartsheet and Resource Manager or other similar tools.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.\nSolid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results and driving project success.\nExperience in client-facing roles and managing client relationships is preferred.\nPMP is a preferred, but not required\n\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
