This position also involves very close liaison with, and support and coordination of, quality control and meeting customer demand. Additional reporting to Plant Superintendent, Production Manager, Plant Manager.\n\nPOSITION COMPETENCIES:\n\nBe a self-starter and work independently.\nUses logic and reason in dealing with problems.\nAdjusts to changing variables in the workplace.\nEngages others in constructive debate to explore alternative actions.\nReaches agreements with others while maintaining perspective regarding longer term relationships.\nCommunicates effectively and concisely in oral and written messages.\nAbility to be persistent when accomplishing a task or assignment.\nWorks harmoniously and with tact and diplomacy in dealing with a broad range of people.\nAccepts the responsibilities and obligations of the job and the consequences of one’s actions.\nActs as a formal or informal leader in the achievement of group targets.\nOperates pro-actively, anticipating possible problems, opportunities and challenges.\n\nPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nA Process Operator I is responsible for adhering to the responsibilities listed below regardless of the Operator position they are performing.\n\nPromotes health, safety and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.\nPromotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual, and procedures.\nMaintains a safe working environment. Follows all safety rules and procedures.\nResponsible for visual quality of product.\nMaintains work station; keeps clean, organized and safe of tripping hazards.\nBagger/Strapper Operator – Accurately weighs and measures raw materials as required.\nBoxer Operator – Accurately stamps or labels boxes as required.\nMiddle Operator – Performs process for splicing into production line surfacing fabrics and film as needed. Maintains the operation of the entire middle section of the line in relation to quality specification and product requirements. Maintains the operation of the press rollers and cooling process of the sheet. Sets up raw materials.
