Audiovisual CAD Engineer
Post Sales CAD Engineer – Tampa, FLA market-leading DoD and Federal Government AV integrator is seeking a full-time Post Sales CAD Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Tampa, FL. This role will work closely with Project Managers, Programmers, Sales Engineers, and Installation Teams to deliver high-quality audiovisual and unified communications solutions for government and enterprise clients.The Post Sales CAD Engineer will be responsible for supporting AV system implementations from project kickoff through completion by creating detailed CAD drawings, engineering documentation, system layouts, and project revisions. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring project accuracy, technical consistency, and successful execution across multiple concurrent projects.ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain detailed AV system drawings, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and architectural documentation using AutoCADReview project scopes of work, equipment lists, and technical documentation for accuracy and completenessSupport post-sales engineering efforts for AV, video conferencing, and integrated technology systemsCollaborate with Project Managers, Programmers, Technicians, and other stakeholders throughout project executionGenerate and revise engineering documentation, including power, data, and infrastructure requirementsProcess drawing revisions, markups, and engineering change orders as projects evolveAssist in resolving technical issues during system implementation and commissioning phasesMaintain documentation standards and ensure consistency across all project deliverablesManage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detailProvide technical support and coordination with internal teams and external trades when necessaryEffectively communicate project updates, technical concerns, and documentation changesQualifications3–5+ years of AV CAD drafting or post-sales AV engineering experienceProficiency in AutoCAD 2010 or newer versions requiredExperience creating AV system drawings, signal flow diagrams, and rack layoutsUnderstanding of audiovisual systems, structured cabling, video conferencing, and integration standardsExperience supporting AV integration projects in enterprise, government, or mission-critical environments preferredFamiliarity with DoD or Federal Government project environments is highly desirableCTS certification preferredManufacturer certifications such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, or Poly are a plusStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and WordExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating within a fast-paced team environmentExperience with dynamic blocks, drawing standards, and AV documentation best practices preferredAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirement
